Regional Compliance and Data Protection Manager

What's the role?

We're looking for a Regional Compliance and Data Protection Manager to support the Legal team across Northern Europe with regard to compliance and GDPR/data matters.

What does the role involve?

Compliance

  • Management of the Compliance Management System for Hilti GB and co-ordination of Local Compliance Officer activity across Northern Europe including design, implementation, training and ongoing monitoring.
  • Co-ordination and leading internal investigation teams on a variety of compliance topics
  • Advise management and employees on various compliance topics, with a focus on confidentiality and anonymity where required.
  • Conduct and coordinate with internal and external auditors on compliance topics.
  • Maintain the performance of compliance management systems and various compliance tools on regional and local levels;

Data Protection
  • Appointment as Data Protection Manager for Hilti GB and co-ordination of data compliance activities across Northern Europe region
  • Maintenance of the Record of Processing Activities and Data Protection Agreements for each country, in conjunction with local DPOs:
  • Significant input into commercial opportunities which involve data, and any blockers to resolution
  • Devising and delivery of data protection/ management training across the region, as required
  • Support and assistance to each country's Data Protection Officer on GDPR compliance topics.

Our Regional Head Office is based at Circle Square in Central Manchester, where we are located a short walk from Oxford Rd train station and St Peter's Square tram stop. We offer a hybrid working pattern between the office and home and different ways to work flexibly so please feel free to talk about what flexibility means to you at your interview.

What you need is:

  • Role model in values, compliance and business ethics;
  • Demonstrable detailed knowledge and understanding of compliance, data privacy/protection legal and regulatory requirements in a large/complex organisation.
  • Highly developed communication and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and delivery orientated
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A degree in law would be preferable but not essential
